Andrea studied in San José, as a bilingual preschool teacher with an emphasis on speech therapy. She completed her degrees at the Universidad Hispanoamericana de Costa Rica. She has been working in education since 2009, teaching mostly kindergarten for primary schools along with English as a second language.
Additionally, Andrea has worked as a private instructor with early stimulation techniques for babies from 5 months to 1-year-olds. She's also assisted in the support of poverty-stricken teenagers through various Costa Rican associations to help reduce dropout rates in this particular demographic.
In 2015, Andrea came to the South Pacific Coast to be more connected with nature, first working for Costa Rica Dive and Surf in Dominical, followed by the Centro Educativo Costa Ballena as a Spanish and Social Studies Teacher.
Andrea speaks three languages: Spanish, English, and Portuguese. Her passions are her family, the outdoors, different cultures, and learning new things every day. She believes that a child is not only a student but an integral being that's part of the community. She prides herself on being a guide in a child's learning process, with a strong respect for their cherished interests and beliefs.
