Omar has a bachelor's degree (Licenciatura en Diseño) in Integral Design from the National Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico. He also studied arts at the Faro de Oriente in Mexico City where he learned xylography, screen printing, cardboard papier-mache, ceramics, and music. To boot, he's a skilled carpenter, having grown up helping with his family's business!

Omar has offered art workshops in museums, cultural centers, organizations, schools, and parks all over Mexico and Central America. He has painted murals in Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. He also works in graphic design, having done branding, corporate identity, and logos.

Omar believes in art as a means of building identity and culture. He is interested in the creative processes and wants his students to experience and learn different techniques so that they can express themselves freely and develop their creativity without limits. He is passionate about literature, colors, textures, shapes, materials, and sounds. One of his hobbies is playing the ukulele. His dream is to speak five languages fluently in his lifetime.
