Middle Years Education

Welcome to the Middle Years

Our Middle Years students are offered a gentle transition from play-based learning to guided bilingual project-based learning experiences.

Beginning in the Middle Years, students begin navigating both independent and collaborative challenges, inquiry and research, and hands-on community development. They receive mentorship from both seasonal specialists and long-term mentors. Middle Years students maintain a physical portfolio; an anthology of projects and learning reflections throughout the year.

Beginning in the Middle Years, students have the opportunity to explore Elective Learning throughout the week, where they may choose a learning or exploration center such as animal care, archery, basketball, field games, cooking, art, or French.

Students create projects together

The Middle Years academic journey is a blend of increasing rigor and challenge, and playful learning rhythms reminiscent of the Early Years such as musical integration, verses, and guided reading and writing.

All Middle Years Core teachers co-create each themed Trimester learning cycle together, ensuring interdisciplinary connections and overlay to deepen understanding.
